Im tryin to figure out what part of all that stuff you listed has to do with the block, other then the water pump.

the 98 block should be fine unless your tryin to build a 1000 HP monster

Thinner cylinder liners prevent from boring as far as new blocks. No rear oil channel.

Oh, and you can't get the old paper water pump gaskets anymore. The metal ones replaced them.

well if the sensors require a different harness its going to be difficult to use a 99 harness on 98 sensors which use a different harness correct me if i am wrong? and the other things help out if he is buying as a whole to see what he has to work with and what has to be upgraded

I do believe also that the block is externally the same, if you got a lead on one, pick it up assuming you want to stay w/ stock bore. You could(just a suggestion) pick up an Iron block 6.0 for cheaper and use the bigger valved heads!!!

EDIT: You already have a 6.0L block!!! You know whats up! You could look for an LS6 Block, arent they supossed to be a little beefier??
