Default Need some cam help.....

I have a XE-R 224-228 581-588 113 LSA cam.
Now the cam WAS installed on a 113ICL last yr. (straight up)

The problem I have is I looked at the cam card and it said,Install cam on a 109 ICL

I'm re-doing the shortblock as we speak.Should I put it in on the 109ICL like COMP sez or put it back in on the 113ICL?

Anyone???

That's a lot of advance for that cam. I'd retard the installation 2 degrees to a 111 ICL, but you did run an 11.14 @ 123 so you decide whether you want to mess with it.

Rag,what effect would advancing the cam to its proper spot 109 have over putting it back straight up?

Comp should know where they like there cams dialed in,dont u think?I guess your idea (111ICL) is alitte bit of both,it'll still peak high but not too high and should make decent tq threw the whole rpm range?

I'm concerned with peak hp/tq.I'm NOT revving this thing to the moon to make power.6500 is gonna be the max rpm I wanna shift my car at after the shortblocks finished.

if the lsa is 113, and the icl is 109, doesn't that make it 4 degrees advanced? so that would lower ur peak a few hundred, wouldn't it?

Exactly,And thats what I'm getting at...
This should make the peak about 300 rpm lower (6200) which would be perfect for a 6500 shift point.

The old setup peaked at 6500 and I was shifting at 6800/6900 which I wont do again.
