Special Tools for bottom end build?
Special Tools for bottom end build? Just curious if there are any special tools required if you build the bottom end of an ls1 besides the usual like a torque wrench, feeler gauges, tapered ring compressor, and i guess its a dial bore indicator for measureing crank thrust? A friend of mine said you need other special tools to build it. Thanks guys
Just went through this...additional things that will make it easier:
cover alignment tool
piston ring grinder (if using file-fit rings)
special tape to check your bearing clearances
torque-angle meter (if using OEM main studs or OEM head bolts)
plastic hammer
6- or 12-pt sockets (if using ARP fasteners)
