are my valve heights correct
put a set of force fed heads ls6 59cc (pp cnc, finished by force fed). gt2/3 cam, sbc lifters, stock rollers, 7.4 pushrods
started up, always had a lot of valvenoise that seemed sort of irregular, pulled the rockers back off, measured across the tops of the valves with a straight edge. the inlet and outlet valves on one head differ in height by about 30 thou. (will check the other tomorrow)
not all the inlet or all the outlet valves are the same height either, the ruler definately rocks across one that is taller than the rest. perhaps 10 thou difference there
these are large valves, but would they not be installed all the same height??
not a lot of cars in the uk to compare with...need some insight.
ps, checked the stock heads i removed, all dead flat and level.

guess with 7.4 rods im at least 40 thou off where i need to be on either inlet or outlet
is it normal to end up with inlet and outlet rods being different.
also the stock s bc lifters i read need a 60 thou preload, the ls1 lifters need a 100 thou preload. is this about correct?
i have a adjustable pushrod length tool in the garage somewhere, guess illl need to go find it.
