rev limit for 5.3
I'm putting together a 2001 5.3L truck motor to go into an off road Jeep type tube frame buggy. Eventually, I'm going to add some cubes, but for now here is a list of what I have:
stock 5.3L assembly
LS6 intake
LS1 cam (need to check on the year)
short tube headers (no room for long tube's)
"yellow" GM valve springs
hardened push rods
ported oil pump
LS2 timing chain
Modified wiring harness
Programmed PCM (tune TBD)
The transmission is a built TH350 with a full manual reverse valve body and 2200rpm stall converter.
With this combo, what is a safe setting for the PCM rev limiter? I'm thinking that having it set to the stock LS1 setting of 6200 would be OK, but I don't want to blow the motor or leave usable rev's on the table.
Thanks for the help!
