Default Possible New LS1

I am in the process of trading for a 1998 Z28 Convertible Automatic. Its black with black interior and black top. It has chrome wheels (factory) and 40,000 miles on it.

Is there anything in particular i should look for to be wrong?

What are the common problems with these cars?

Excuse me for being such a noob to the whole ls1 thing.

Can anyone give me a quick rundown of what would be needed to run faster than 11.97/114 mph (my old best in my old car) with street tires, and naturally aspirated in this car?

What kinda of realistic 1/4 mile times would a stock automatic ls1 'vert run?

Thanks for your time.

Piston slap was more common with the later year cars. 98's did not suffer much if any from this issue. I've had my 98 formy since 2000 and have never had piston slap and have a little over 89000 miles on the clock. Since this car is an auto, buy a good stall first, then headers, ls6 intake, ported TB and a cat back or cutout and you should be in the mid to low 12's easily. Add some better flowing heads and a cam maybe gears and you should see the 11's.

thats really funny that you mentioned the window motor, because one of the power windows doesnt work.

i priced the motor at advance auto parts for 55 bucks, thats not too bad. are they hard to change?
