Differences in Vortecs and LS1s? What is different about the Vortecs like the 5.3 in my moms Avalanche for example, and the LS1 in my 02 SS?
Obviously the Displacment, and the Intake. But will any of the parts interchange?

The modern 5.3s are basicly the same architecture as an LS1, but they are Iron block (mostly) and have a different bore. If you bore out a 5.3 to 5.7, which is no biggie, you basicly have an Iron LS1. Lots of people use the 5.3 heads as a mild upgrade.
