Default Another question about a cam

I know this gets asked way too many times, but what do you think of THIS cam kit? I know the basics of a cam, but I don't know which one to get, it comes with 5 or 6 different options. Thanks.
+And do you think it would be worth saving up another $100 for the $700.00 kit? I'm on a huge budget, and my friend is putting it in.

all I have is an underdrive pulley, a lid, shitmaster catback, no cats, a cheap tune, nothing really fancy, and I'm going to get it tuned again when I get the cam in

Why bother putting in a cam unless its designed for minimal boltons. Id suggest just getting a nitrous kit if you want to go fast. Cheaper and better driveability (read only high hp when you hit it)

You dont have the right upgrade path here. Just slow down smokey and make sure you do this the right way.

dont do that. you do need long tubes and a ls6 intake(if pre-01) first though. after that then you can get a cam package. your gonna want to get a high flow ls6 oil pump and a new timing chain (ls2 is cheap) as well. i would recommend a dual spring kit for added insurance since you say your on a huge budget. as far as what cam that depends on what your gonna be using the car for. you will also need a dyno tune afterwards ~$500. also if your on a huge budget like you say, your gonna want heads as well. your also gonna want to factor in other costs like a new clutch, driveshaft, ds loop, rear end, etc. nitrous is gonna cost you about $1000+ to do it right and you will still need to beef up the driveline unless you like things going boooom.

ahh my bad. yeah if your on a budget, that budget should include at a minimum the long tubes. It should be done waaay before even considering a cam. as far as what cam kit to go with, it depends on the cam. if your going with a basic 224 cam (great cam) then the single spring kit will get you by, anything bigger and your gonna want dual springs. it is still recommended to go with dual springs for added insurance but many people have driven a lot of miles on singles with no problems. i ran duals on my 224 cam, its nice to know that you dont have to worry about valve float and a spring breaking.
