Detonation problem!

Detonation problem! Ok, I Always use BP 93 octane in my LS1. I had some detonation at high RPM, above 5k. I pulled my stock plugs (denso's) and saw they were burning up, so I thought this was the cause. I replaced them with NGK TR55's gapped at the factory .060. I still have the high RPM Detonation! What else could be the cause of this? THe car is on the stock tune to the best of my information...I bought the car with 27000 miles under the impression that everything is stock.
If your pcv valve is letting oil into your intake, the oil will cause detonation as well. Pull the throttle body off and see if the inside of the intake is coated with oil, I'll bet it is .

You can put a new pcv valve on it. The knock sensors are underneath the intake manifold and there are two of them. If you hook a scanner up to it, it will tell you if it has knock retard at idle or while you are driving.

I used to have it. Making a catch can out of air compressor filter stuff from Home Depot now collects all the oil that used to go into the intake. Just replacing the PCV valve will not fix the problem. Search for "catch can"
I would not bother with knock sensors. I could hear it at 5K rpm just like you can and a scanner showed I had knock and timing was being pulled, but I doubt they are causing it. I got a catch can, 160 stat, and a tune all at once and have never heard it since.
