Burned Motors????? REBUILDABLE????????
I am looking for a 6.0 motor to build, I find some very cheap from salvage yards for ones that have been burned. By burned I mean the rest of the vehicle burned. My question is how much damage could a fire possibly do to an engine? I understand the harness and composite intake, and anything plastic would be ruined. Other than that would there be anything else to look out for or be weary of. Thanks for anyones help.

I am in Florida. Shipping is the same reason i am looking for one locally. Do you know if the heat would affect anything?

I don't think a fire would get hot enough to do any damage to the block, considering the heat of normal combustion has got to be hotter.

You can use the engine block and such as long as it isn't severely warped from extreme heat. You will probaby need to find a knowledgable racing machine shop that could retemper the core if it had.
