Head Cam replacement
Just did a head cam swap in a 2002 z28 last week, and wanted to pass along a tip that we figured out.
We were trying to figure out how to lock the flex plate so we could take the bolt out of the main pulley. We didn't buy the tool, nor were we willing to drop the tranny.
So, after a few minutes trying to find something strong enough to hold everything and fit through the opening, we discovered that one of the old head bolts worked perfectly. It was plenty strong, the right size, and since we weren't re-using them, we didn't have to worry about damaging the bolt.
