Default break in process???

What steps, if any, need to be taken to break in a new cam/valvetrain? i've been told by a few people that there is no need for "breaking in" these things but i also hear that there is so i dunno....

Heat cycle the springs a couple times and you will be good to go.

if you have a roller there is NO i repeat No break in. Just be sure to use clevittes bearing lube where there is 2 pieces of metal contacting metal.I.E.. both sides of the push rod, valve stem top, roller wheels, and use dry graphite spray to coat the springs. I am sure you will fing a thousand use for bearing gaurd and it costs $8 at any decent machine shop

just make sure to coat the cam, lifters, pushrods, and rockers with plenty of whatever oil you are using. What I did is before I put the valve covers I I poured a quart over both sides of the moter, all over the rockers and let it drain down...then I bolted on the valve covers and buttoned everything up...no problems at all.....I dunno about that graphite stuff...I would just stick to what the manufacturer's recomend...which is good ole oil.......good luck
