I have a set of Patriot STG II 5.3 ltr heads not milled and I want to install this cam

ditto. i know the patriot stage 2 ls6 heads are supposed to have the same clearance as stock heads, but im not sure about the 5.3's. talk to gunnar@patriot.

I do not think so due to the bigger valves and PP usually uses Ferrea.
Flycut is in order, 2cc

Yeah, I think that you will have problems too. Even with stock heads it's would probably be right on the borderline. I don't think that you will have to flycut 2cc's though, you'll want to keep your compression up with that big of cam.

If you're gonna go to all the trouble of flycutting, flycut right .080 both sides (2cc),
at least .080 int and .060 exht and mill your heads or use a thinner gasket wich is better. That way you have plenty of room for good safety margins.
