Is this block repairable??

This is a 2000 LS1 out of a vette that had 15000 miles on it before the motor hydrolocked. Is this block repairable? The hole is less than an inch in diameter.

wow - i do not think that's repairable. you need to weld or somehow mend that hole, and then you need a new cylinder sleeve.

that'll be a lot of money just to MAYBE get it repaired.

yikes - that sucks.

I agree - I doubt that is repairable. You can get a used LS1/6 block for around $500 or less.

On an aluminum block you can, but the deciding factor is what the inside looks like. Most likely its cheaper to buy another stock block.
