Default broken valve spring?

i was at the track the other day and ran my car to the limit before shifting and at the end of the run on the way back down the return lane i had a bad knocking and the car idled down and almost died and kept shaking. i let ir run for about 10 min and it quit but i have a ticking noise from the center sounds like its up high in the heads. i took both valve covers off and everything looks fine just alot of sludge.

If a spring is broken, you will see it.

humm, well i have a lil play in some of my rocker arms , the only thing left would be a bent push rod , or a collapsed lifter?

take off the rocker arms and pull the pushrods. also inspect the springs really good, sometimes you cant see a broken one right away. when i broke one of mine i could not tell until i tried to turn them, when i got to the last one i noticed it had a crack in it and fell apart when i pulled on it.

My vote goes to bent pushrod. It's the weak link.
