Im ordering a gasket set and I switched from my stock ls1 heads to 5.3L truck heads. The gasket company is saying that the ls1 gaskets may not work and neither will the 5.3. This is starting to scare me! They also informed me that the intake will not bolt up off my ls1 to the 5.3 heads...Is this true? The cast number is 706 and the heads came off a 2005 tahoe with 40k. I was told it was a direct bolt up. Please someone with knowledge help me out.

can anybody tell me what gasket to use? 5.3L or 5.7 ls1? And will these heads work with my ls1? I was told by several its a direct bolt on and by a gasket company that they are NOT now!

I used an ls1 head gasket from cometic with my ls1 block and 5.3L heads and it works fine. And the intake should bolt right up.

Use 5.7 gaskets , the intake will bolt up no problem!

 

I'm using Patriot StageII 5.3 heads on my one TA - factory MLS 5.7 gaskets and LS6 intake - no problems with either on install, or 4 years later...
