Default check engine light

so i have a 1999 trans am 6 sp. my check engine light comes on when i beat on it. it goes off later though. i have a k&n airfilter no lid magnaflow exhaust and a ram air hood. I have no idea why it goes on and off i was hoping someone would know.

Get a scanner and check to see what code are being stored.

It's impossible to guess what code is being set. If you don't have access to a scanner I think AAMCO and/or AutoZone can scan your car for free.
