Cam question?

I see guys saying their cam is +2, +4, etc degrees advanced. What is the difference between having +4 degrees in a cam and having the same cam with no degrees? Any power difference or is it all just how you install the cam? TIA

The way I understand this is that advance brings down the RPM where the HP will peak. Not so much more or less horsepower, but where the power comes on.

So having a cam at +4 will give you more low end and top out quicker? So you would shift earlier than a straight up cam?

yep

its like shooting a flying duck- you have to aim a little ahead of the duck. where the spark is the bullet, and the duck is the fuel. advancing moves the gun farther and farther in front of the duck.
