Hey guys...
Can you change the pistons and rods without pulling the motor? Or would i wanna get some machine work done when changing the pistons??

yes you can as long as the engine is suppoerted....the k member will have to go and of course the heads....just check the cylinders with a bore gauge when you get it all apart......

why not we change rod bolts when the rod bolts are out if the heads are off that piston will push rite out....

hell you could pull the tranny and do a crank install as well........

yeah but you cant just throw new pistons in an old cylinder, there are ridges inside the cylinder that will snap new rings.

and I mean if you are gonna go so far as to remove the k-member, why not just drop the whole motor and do it right?

So I guess I am wrong, just pull the k-member and leave the engine hanging from whatever is available. And then have at it, best of luck to you.

I would go the other route and start by yanking the engine, but that is just me.
