Billet or Cast - Cam ????

I am looking at all the cams out there for sale and those offered as custom/proprietary grinds and they seem to come from Comp Cams. Are these cams starting life as Billet or cast? What is the stock cam made from?

Just a few questions, as I am thinking of having one ground for me was wondering if this is one of the things I need to be concerned about.

Its nothing you need to worry about. There were a couple of bad cams that got out, but I belive they were cam motion.

So a custom ground cam on a comp cams blank should be good to go. Thanks for the heads up on that one. I have been wondering for a few days now. I have been thinking of going with a vendors offer of making a custom one for me.
