Default Should ms3 need bigger injectors?

i am putting in an ms3 so i had been looking up dyno graphs here on ls1tech. i came across a guy who made around 400 with stock injectors, then switched to 32 pounders and made 430ish. I figured i would do the same, but my friend told me it should not be necessary because the stockers are good for up to about 440hp. So im just tryin to get the story straight and find out whether or not i should spend the 400 bucks on injectors

I've got the PRC 5.3/MS3 combo on my TA. The stock injectors were maxed out at 107% duty cycle @ 6300 RPM and the car was still pulling. Granted its not a cam only car but if you have a 01-02 car then the 28lbers should be able to handle the MS3 by itself.

FWIW: I got 42# injectors to put in mine when I get back

If you have a 1999 or 2000 with the stock 26lb injectors you may have to upgrade them. The other years should have 28lb injectors which should handle a cam only car sufficiently.

30# SVO's would be a good choice for a cammed setup. They are about 36#'s on the fuel PSI on an LS1 though.

What about on a heads/cam car?

I've got a 2000 T/A so it's got the stock 28lb injectors.. Would 36's be plenty?

Yes the 36s should be fine. Just for info on my post above we got the SVO 42s in the car and at 6700 RPM they are only at 53% duty cycle.

I make 405rwhp and stock injectors are at 98%. I"m doing a Fast 90 with 30lb SVO injectors.

I am running the ms3 and made 410 RWHP with the SVO #30 injectors. I went with them because i didnt want to run into a problem with the stockers and not getting enough fuel. You could probably find them used in the classified section that is what i did.

Anything other than minor bolt-ons requires bigger-than-stock injectors. A cam would fall under this category

They are fairly inexpensive and easy to install . . . just sucks when you get to the fuel-pump upgrade part

There are a lot of people running stock injectors with cam only cars.

Yup. I didn't say it couldn't be done. I said it requires bigger-than-stock injectors . . . if you wanna max out your injectors, possibly run dangerously lean, and blow up your motor for not spending a couple hundred bucks on injectors go for it

Ticking time bomb on maxed out injectors.

To each their own . . . upgrade at your own risk

you DONT have to dish out $400 for injectors.. you can buy 39# injectors from someone over on svtperformance.com from an 03-04 cobra, then buy the adapters.. youll probably save 100-150$ doing that
