Default LS6 Heads and Cam

Anyone know what kind of number gains one would see by adding stock LS6 heads and an LS6 cam to an LS1 motor?

Really just looking to get more power out of the car without losing daily drivability. Also do not want to have to get a cam where I have to change the springs at certain intervals. Really prefer a stealth cam or as close to stock as possible.

if u add a ls6 cam with that u should atleast make 405hp with stock manifolds and tune, drivability should be no diff. from stock. pretty much a copy of
ls6 motor, upgrade springs to ls6 also

Well, I have LS6 heads and a cam bigger than the LS6 and I didn't dyno even close to 405 hp. M6 with 4.11's and stock exhaust was 360 hp 355 torque.

some headers and a cat back would give you very good gains.

When NemeSS said 405HP...., he meant, at the flywheel,

You have about 414HP at the flywheel with 360 rwhp!

well i have this exact combo, i have posted this before. if you want a cam that idles at 600 rpm, with no loping sound / sleeper this cam is for you. do not expect great dyno numbers, i was dissapointed. you'll gain 20 rwhp from heads and 20 rwhp from cam. i'm a conservative guy and i wish i would have gone with a slightly bigger cam. i'm at 350 rwhp w/a4, before my TB. ther is a local dyno that gives inflated #s aprox 20-25 higher. good luck with your choice. ps i'm happy with my ls6 heads but wish i put bigger / higher lift springs on, mine are ls6 springs good to 570 lift.

I agree. The guy who did my tune told me my exhaust was holding me back. I'm finishing up my Kooks 1 7/8 install and adding a slp dual/dual. He said with headers and cat back we should see around 400 rwhp.

The answer to the question about the heads is yes. My heads are ported, I have the light-weight valves and higher ratio rockers.
