Default How long is it safe to drive H/C untuned?

Just trying to figure out if I can drive it home and then drive it to the shop to get it tuned, or should I try and get it towed to the shop?

It would be about 30 minutes of drive time.

yeah you can drive it untuned, might be a little rough depending on how big your cam is, but it'll be alright. Now if your swapping to larger injectors DO NOT drive it until it is tuned.

The cam is 230/234 and I have swapped to 30# SVO's, which if I remember correctly, should flow around 36# on an LS1.

So I should not drive it due to the injectors?

Nope. Don't drive with those injectors. Depending on who you have tune it, you can mail/take your PCM to them and they can do some adjustments on it to make it safe and to get you moving. Once they set everything up, you can drive your car there for the final tweaking/dyno tune.

Its just going to run really rich. As long as you can get it movin it should be fine. I've had to drive with larger injectors before my tune before. It ran like **** no doubt but I could drive it. I would say drive it around your house or wherever for a little bit and see what its going to do and decide from there. I just couldn't get into the throttle very much or it would start missing but I could cruise and run the speed limit without problem. I think I had every car I've ever wanted to race mess with me in that little drive too.

id say find someoen to at least dial in the injectors for you to get it to the shop, or get to the place where ur having it tuned and swap the new injectors in in their parkinglot if they are okay with it.. shouldnt take more than 20 minutes tops
