Default new lifter fitment

Ive seen mention, that you are supposed to soak new lifters in oil before fitment ?

Is this the case, or does it not matter ?

Morel lifters.

Default Soaking Lifters

The rule of thumb is to soak the lifters in oil for a day before installing them. This allows the oil to fill the lifter and when you start the engine the first time you get oil to the top end quicker (no waiting for the lifters to fill up).

Thanks.....if thats the only reason, no need. Engine will be assembled today. The final parts I had ordered finally arrived for me to complete my rebuild, and I want to go racing next weekend

its not necessary IMO. I do like to squirt quite a bit on and inside them when assembling though...
