Default valve seals? Help

I'm putting my cam kit in and on ls1howto it says the oil seals are black on one valve and brown on the other. My dual spring kit came with all brown seals. Are they made for either one? help please

From factory (stock) they are different. As a replacement we just put all exhaust ones on. It is standard practice and work perfect.

The intake seal has a defined "lip" that pressed against the valve, this limits the lubrication that the valve receives and if you are using cast iron guides it is a good idea to use the exhaust seal which will let more oil through. I only use bronze guides on street/race motors, so the extra lubrication is not necessary because bronze has it's own lubricating properties.
