Default LS2 chain on a 5.3, seems loose

I am finishing up my cam change on my 5.3 and I installed an LS2 timing chain. Maybe its just me and my inexperience with LSX engines, but the chain seems really loose. I measured 3/8" deflection on one side, and a 1/4" on the other. Obviously this changes as you start to turn the crank, but it never gets better. The old chain(34k miles) seems to be just a bit tighter. Am I missing something here? What is acceptable deflection in the chain?

I have heard of this before. I am running the stock chain with my cam right now but sunday I will be installing the LS2 chain. I guess I will see if mine is the same way.
