Default what do u guys think

im thinking about buying stock 241 heads for my transam its a 99 and get the stock 241 heads ported and polished do u guys think it will make more power if i switch to the 241 heads and put a small cam or just keep my stock heads and put a small cam

look at some of the sponsors heads. you can get some nice 5.3, ls6 heads pretty inexpensive. i would do those before you bought 241 heads and had them worked

their selling some 241 heads for 150 bucks

I'm in the same boat as you but i'm doing most of the work myself. Well except the heads i'm porting are 853's. Got em' for $125 a couple of years ago. Finally took em' apart.
Already have Ti retainers. Gonna re-use stock valves, spring pads, and locks. Just need springs (918) and valve stem seals.

One word of advise, check all the valve guides. The heads i bought only had 20K miles on them. i took them apart to check for cracks, etc and one of the damned guides was broken in half.
