stock valvetrain

does anyone know what r.p.m. can the stock valvetrain max r.p.m. is?i am getting ready to install a converter and i am reading i may have to raise the limiter. thanks.

I wouldn't go any higher than 5700-5800 on a completely stock valvetrain.

That even may be too high.

The stock rev limiter is set at 6,200 rpm. GM would have never set it at that level if there were potential problems. They certainly don't want to encourage warranty claims. the PR's and valve springs are the weak links.
