Default LS1 timing?

Does an ls1 have a timing belt or a timing chain?

Thanks,
Chris

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe there are any pushrod motors that were ever made that use a timing belt.

Right on! Hey, anybody want a Pete Jackson Gear Drive for a '82-'92 305 or 350? NIB, and I'll sell it very cheap!

Too bad the car would run like crap. A gear drive would keep the knock sensors very busy.

Hey that's a good point, I'm sure you're right! A while back I heard aftermarket cams could trip the knock sensor, is this true?

I've heard that it can make the computer think the car is misfiring...but isn't there a mod out there to "desensitize" the knock sensors???

Tried it and the computer would always think it was knocking. Summit told me ahead of time but I tried it anyways ran bad sounded good. I did not try any kind of tuning though I was told that it would not work very well by Mr Ed over at Fastchip.com. I changed it out for a chain. That was on a 96 truck though.
