Default Melling 295?

I did a H/C on my car and have my motor apart. I went to autozone to check about a better oil pump and they have a melling M295 listed for the ls1 and ls6. Is this oil pump any better than the one I already have? They couldnt cross reference the part number for the ls4. or so they said. Need some opinions here and quick. Is the M296 better and will it bolt right up? Lost and need quick answers so help please!

Thanks,
Jeff

I'm assuming you still have the stock oil pump, so yes the M295 is better. It is a high volume pump. If you go to speedinc.com they have both and you can see the differences.
