Are the pushrods too long???

I got my 4.8 turned ls1 running this week and it has some loud valvetrain noise. I know these motors are well know for this but mine seems a little too loud. It has a patriot 226 and patriot gold springs. I bought some texas speed 7.400 pushrods off here and when I got them they were 7.425's so I put them in anyways and hoped for the best. Reckon the longer pushrods are making the noise worse?

Actualy you need longer pushrods.
7.425 Comp Cam (actualy 7.450 length)
The noise is due to light preload on lifters.

So instead of the 7.425's that is in it now I need 7.450's? Thanks

Get a push rod length checker and find out for sure what size you need. I believe they are pretty inexpensive.

I don't know the history, but you didn't use the 4.8 rods with a 5.3 or larger crankshaft did you? the 4.8 rods are longer.

No 5.3 crank and ls1 rods and pistons

I meant you could use 7.425 Comp Camp p-rods (they measure close to 7.450),
Get a checker and measure but from my experience on XE-R grinds cam only, a longer than 7.400 p-rod is needed to quiet things down.

The AOL measurement of a p-rod variates from advertised market guage length.
