Do I need a Double roller with H/C?

Do I need a Double roller with H/C? Installing my TEA 5.3L 1.5X heads and CC 224/.567 soon. Should I stay with the stock chain and rockers or upgrade to double roller chain and Yella Terra rockers? Thanks.

On the other hand I would reccomend changing the chain while you are in there due to slack that might be in the chain from useage... and just general wear and tear that the chain goes through.
I will be doing a set of stage 2 heads hopefully soon and will be doing a new timing chain. I was going to do the yella terra rockers, but do not have the money to spend on them.

You don't have to do a double roller, you could just go with the single Jwis chain that Thunder sells and use your stock sprockets. If you have a ASP pulley, there is a good chance it will hit the oil pump with a double roller, and I think the Jwis is as strong as they come IMO...

Re: Do I need a Double roller with H/C? I did the upgraded timing chain and yella terras more for piece of mind than anything. Also, the yella terras help to quiet down the 'sewing machine' noise.
At the very least, go with the upgraded timing chain. They're not really all that $.
