What size cutout do I have?

What size cutout do I have? My car came with a cutout and I want to slap an electric cutout valve on it.
Problem is I dont know what size I should buy? The exhaust is completely stock (besides the cutout). I read on some of the forums that 3" is stock but I measured the cutout and it came out to about 2 3/4. Does this mean 2.5?
Sorry for the ridiculous post but its one of those things that I don't want to smack myself after I order the wrong size electic motor.
