help on heads
help on heads Have stock 99 LS1 changing to LS6 intake. thought about changing cam also. are there any heads that would fit here with out spending alot and make a difference.(like ZO6 heads, etc)
any head is an improvement over stock. even just milling stock heads will boost power.
but to really anwer your question we kindda need to know what kind of cam you plan on.
something small like the 224 or something big like the magic sticks?
there are heads out there for $1000-1400 that will boost you 30-50hp if you have a decent cam.
but just swapping to ls6 heads will probably only get you 10-15hp...they really are not that much of an improvement...particularly for the cost and hassle of a head swap.
