I kick myself daily for the decision of not boring the block and going with a 427.

I'm hoping for a 10-15 hp gain with my 4.125" crank and 3.905 bore. (See sig)

one day.... when I finish it... if I dont just part it all out and buy a Vette, CTS or 2009 Camaro

You need 6.125" rods and new pistons.

So how many cubes would it take to get 600 horses at the fly wheel?

OK, I have a LSx 383 based on an Eagle crank. There are guys getting over 500rwhp from the 383, but the norm is more like high 400s. My engine makes 450rwhp/450rwtq, but I don't have all the bolt-ons and my LS6 intake is killing me up top. A FAST 90 set-up would prolly put me at 480/460.
I had a pretty bad-*** H/C package before the new engine and it made nearly the same HP, but the 383 kills it in every aspect. The power comes on much more early and stays there and the car is way more fun to drive with the fat mid-range.
