Oil Pumps- What's the difference and what to go with?
Experienced builders especially--
LS1, LS6, ported, unported, blueprinted, Melling, etc........
looking at around 500 RWHP, what is a solution in this range?? I can readily see that more flow would probably stave off problems under higher loads. Blueprinting will give more predictable behavior and last longer. Is RPM the requiring factor?? Are there any others??
And, is the backflow of the block enough to keep the oil pan filled??

I used an LS4 pump and it is working great. I bought one for my truck also but didnt do the cam swap, so I have a new one sitting here if you are interested. Do a search for info on it, it is a cheaper alternative to the ported pumps. Higher flow, and I bought the one with the lower pressure. The pressure gauge is rock solid and never dips even on cold starts.
