Default 01 Camaro SS build questions

I am new to this forum as well as new to the GM world. I have a 01 Camaro SS. Basicly stock, 3.73 gears, shifter and a cat back. I intend on getting full length headers, Cam, throttle body, tuning ect.

I was just givin a pair of low mileage ls6 heads from a 04 CTS V are there any advantage with these heads over the heads on my car? If I use these heads I will be installing a cam at the same time. I am looking at the Comp cams X273. Also, I understand my car has the ls6 intake manifold, Is this a fact? I will be doing this over the next 3 mos and would like to do it in stages. Any suggestions are greatly appriciated.

The LS6 style head will flow a little better than the LS1 casting...01 and 02's have the LS6 intake manifold...
What are the specs for that cam you are looking to run?..

The cam I am looking at is the com cams XR275HR. The specas are .566/.568, 222/224 with 112 lobe seperation. I am looking for the most aggrerssive cam I can run through thos stock heads. Also, the heads have 918 valve springs and Ti retainers. I think this limits me to .600 lift, but I can always get different springs if needed.

Since these heads are off the car I can send them out for porting... Any suggestions on head porters? Again, I am looking for best bang for the buck.

Looks like you are off to a good start. I think Patriot will port them for you.-->

if you are looking for the most aggressive came you should check out the T-rex or the magic stick cams.

with the trouble of removing and installing heads, I would get the ones you have now ported by a sponsor. You'd see some gains from just the heads the way they are now though.
