Default big cube shortblock on a budged

i think bigger cubes just has to be my next thing..

i want to use my patriot stageII heads(59cc) my fast90/90 my ls6 oil pump ls2 time gear.. and as many parts as i can from my current motor, (that has around 500miles on it)

who got the best deals on shortblocks? it has to have forged internals, i am goin to shoot at least 250,

how big can i go and still use my ls6 heads?

^^Thats what I was thinking about when I linked the 370 for ya.

Your heads might work on a 408, but I doubt they will make power like they used to with that big a difference in cubes. You would also want a bigger cam for a 408 too.

The 370 is about as big as I would even think of goin to be able to reuse your H/C set-up & see good results.

We'll know soon. I'm using my Livernois stage 2 heads on my 408 as soon as I button it up.

Those cams are average size in a 408, not big.

Go with a Godzilla. Do a search for it, there's a good sound clip floating around here.

there is quite a few sponsors on here that can build you a reasonably priced long block.tsp has a few pretty good deals on 408 or 41x longblocks. the tq of a 400 + inch engine is pretty sweet.

my mane goal would be to reach over 500rwhp N/A and jet my nitrous kit up to.. around 300, so the internals have to be forged,

403 ls2 longblock for under $8 including intake....... that's pretty awesome. if you're looking to re-use as mutch of your current stuff as possible, then going with a 382 would be the most cost effective thing to do...

but if you want an iron block and/or a bigger bore, then i'd go with the iron 408 for the price.

If you are looking for a good priced quality shortblock we can definitely help you out. We offer a 408 CI package that includes:
  • New GM Performance Parts 6.0L Iron Block
  • Speed Pro Performance Bearings
  • K1 Tech/Carrillo 4340 Forged Stroker Crankshaft
  • K1 Tech/ Carillo 4340 Billett Steel Hbeam Connecting Rods
  • Wiseco Pistons
  • Wiseco Plasma Moly Ring Pack
  • Rotating assembly fully balanced in house
    - We balance in house using the actual parts being used in your engine. A balance card is kept on file. We do not use generic weights to guess where the crankshaft should or might be.
  • Mains are align honed
    - Even though this is a new engine, it is a production piece. We make sure that the main caps are perfectly lined up.Main caps are hand finished after going through the align hone to ensure nothing is missed.
  • Cylinders are CNC bore and honed with torque plate .
  • Block is decked to ensure a perfectly smooth head mating surface.
    - Again, even though this is a new block we make sure you have a deck that is as smooth as glass. We have seen no blocks with a .009" difference from one end of the block the the next. By taking this step this can prevent premature head gasket issues.
  • Engine is jet washed/hot tanked before assembly.
  • Blueprinted assembly in our clean engine assembly room with more than 35 years of experience.
  • All engine plugs are installed.
    - We make sure all freeze plugs and even new dowel pins are installed on the engine. This way when you get the engine all you have to do is bolt on your accessories and go!

Shoot me a PM for pricing and any options you may want to add.
