Default MPG with Torquer 2

Has anybody experienced shitty gas mileage with the instalation of their cam and their car being an A4? Ive noticed a huge difference after my head/cam install and tuning. I filled it up yesterday and drove a total of about 150 miles and its at 1/4 of a tank. Is there alot of fuel spent at first start-up and just tooling around town with no highway driving? My SES light is on and it says my Throttle Position Sensor is throwing the code. My O2 sensors are fine and just wondering if anybody has gone through this problem. My tuning was fine with a fuel/air ratio of about 13.

For comparison my M6 with a similiar size cam and heads gets 13-14 MPG strictly city driving.

I get right around 225-250 on a full tank of gas. So an auto would get a little less. It seems about right to me.

I am getting ~14-15 combined(mostly city) driving. But that is untuned. My scan is showing there is lots of room for improvement.

I assume you had AFR of 13 at WOT? high 14's are what you should see at cruise.

If you are throwing a P0121 code-insuffiect TPS activity that is your problem. When the computer sees this code it goes into some kind of fail safe mode. It will add extra fuel and the trans will shift through all the gears by 40mph. You need to move the max kPa of the MAP senor at idle up because the cam does not have as good of vacuum at idle as the stock cam.

Mine was getting around 13-14 mpg when I had this code now with good driving I am seeing 17-18 in city driving, with stock 3.23 gears of course.

it's not that cam that 's going to kill your gas mileage, It's your playing with the power that suck down the fuel

When MC Racing tuned my car I noticed the idle when startup is around 600-700. Should it be higher or is that because i have no stall yet?

I have my idle set around 850rpm with the engine warm, but I also have a 3800 stall. They could have it set low becuase you have the stock stall.

My mileage is about the same as it was stock. I've still got the 3.42s though...and HATE them. I've got a hotcam, LTs, ORY, Hooker catback, LS6 intake, Vinci Tuner, Lid, yada yada... No pullies though.

I can get around 28 mpg with the air on max on the interstate, and maybe 16 to 18 around town.
