Default cam install question

what is the common problem with something grinding in a ls1 after a cam swap? some piece will self destruct? Just heard of it happening but never found the explanation of what happened.

Grinding from a cam swap is not common at all so there is no good answer for you.

Make sure your gears are dot-to-dot, your PtV is within spec, and oil pump o-ring isnt damaged and your golden.
