Change cam too?

my lifters have been tapping for 10000 miles every since I put the cheatr cam in. I'm pulling having the heads pulled today and ls7 lifters placed in. Should I replace the cam too. How could I tell if it was the cam damaging the lifters. I don't want to pay to have the heads pulled off a 3rd time.

I would inspect each and every lifter, if there is any visable signs of damage, then by default you gotta pull the cam, otherwise the new lifters will be junk city.

Were the lifters tapping or were the pushrods too short? Both could sound the same.

I would buy a pushrod length checker, do some measurements, and report back. I replaced my lifters trying to track down a tap and it didn't fix it lol. I've been through 3 complete exhaust systems and 2 whole motors and it still makes noise. I just turn up the radio these days.
