The post from Y2KSS was the mechanic that worked on it, so I guess all is well. Maybe some thrread lock on that rocker bolt, and check the calibration of the torque wrench, because I know I had that torqued down.

I just put another 10 miles on the car this morning and went through a couple of about 5000 rpm shifts. So far no engine noise and the car runs out very smooth and feels strong. Also we are in the process of installing a Comp 224/224 563/563 along with Comp springs and pushrods courtesy of Speed Inc. in a 99 TA M6. I will post how this turns out later today.

You work at a GM dealership...and you're doing the install???? If so...I need to move to Arkansas!!!

Seriously though...glad it wasn't anything serious.

Drove the car home last night, and the ticking is gone, quiet as a, well, a normal LS-1. Finally had a chance to auto tap it. O2s were around .915 at WOT, LT fuel trims were around -1.5 or so average. No knock at all. I guess it's time to get the techedge wideband in it and do some tuning. I think I can bump the timing up some and pick up a few more ponies. Last night was the first night to really get on it since the cam swap. Made quite a difference. Need some dyno time also.

So, all's well that ends well, I guess. I got lucky.

TTT

Welp, alas, my motor is toast. I thought I might have had the same problem that jaywoo had, but it was not. I checked all the rockers, they were all fine. Checked the rods and the springs as well. Nothing wrong. Pretty sure I spun the bearing. If any of you have any other ideas, lemme know, I am willing to try anything before I pull the motor.
