Default what the heck is this?

i sent my shortblock to be rbuilt and forged and all the parts for the covers and oil pan and such where just given to me i a box i have looked through my manual and still cannot find out what this goes to. i have a suspicion that it was plug or something put in the oil dipstick during manufacting and once the oil stick is put in it comes out and just stays in ur oil pan but im not sure.

I think its the plunger that goes in the back of your block.

Thats the oil "restrictor" it forces oil into the oil filter. Without it installed the you won't have any oil pressure. It is located behind the rear engine cover in the oil galley hole that extends from the rear of the block all the way to the front next to the oil pump. It may have a new one already if it was rebuilt??..

The ("O") ring side of the oil galley plug should go in last and should be flush with the block. It must be there, Call the builder and see if they install one IF they didn't you must remove the rear cover and install it. If you don't the motor wont last a minute after start up
