Thinking about my shift points with the new cam setup. Where do you guys think my hp is going to peak? I will have mods in sig plus a TR 231/237 592/603 111.5 ... Any ideas?

Everyone always says you have to spin 230+ cams to the moon. My main question is how high am I going to need to set my revs/shifts? I am spinning a stock bottom end...but I was told an 01 should have better rod bolts?

You need to dyno, just bear in mind that when peak hp falls off you do not need to shift before that.

For example (dont mind the #'s)

If you made peak 400 hp @ 5500 rpms

BUT you can Rev out to 7000 rpms

@ 6500 you make 385 hp

You can still set your shift point higher becuase when you shift higher, in the next gear it starts out higher on the rpm where your making more power to begin with. Even though there was a 15 hp drop for the 1k extra rpms.

With a stock bottom end I would be not going past 6500 and shifting with in 300 rpms of the limiter.

i think youll peak about 6600 maybe 6800 the ls6 intake will probly hold you back after that but like the post above its about shifting down into peak torque thats what you want to set your shift points for and the dyno will show that and i wouldnt spin that stock bottom past 6500 either i know poeple have did alot but your chances increase alot on messen something up but if you got the money to fix it screw it push that stock block and see what happens

232/238 cam on a 112 with worked 241 heads - very similar. It should peak the same.
