The 6.0 ltr. iron block is in the LSX series (ls1, ls2,etc...) (4.8,5.3,5.7,6.0) The LS1 is an aluminum 5.7ltr., the new ls2 is and aluminum 6.0 with a wider bore spacing. The 6.0 iron block is the truck version with a different designation and I can not remember it right now but it is similiar to or may be calledthe LQ9.

I'm pretty sure its a genIII motor. The earlier 6.0 truck motors is a lq4 and the newer ones are lq9. They also have much less compression then a LS2 and different heads and cam.

The 6.0 ltr truck is designated as lq9.

All LS-family aluminum and iron engines use the same bore spacing. The bore diameter and stroke are varied to create the different displacements.

The LQ4/LQ9 engines found in the trucks are more closely similar to the LS1 than the LS2, save for the bore diameter and heads.

The L92 is a 6.2L engine. It is not a "truck" LS2.

The Wikipedia entries on the LS and Vortec (truck) engines are good quick-n-dirty starting points for understanding these engines.

ok I agree

I did not say it was, it was just a designation that I could not remember in a previous post. When I did remember it I made a note. I have seen interesting comparisons between the L92 and the LQ9

Yes I agree the bore spacing is the same.

Never said the L92 was a truck engine.
