ok was pull'n my pushrods to check for any bent ones and i'm try'n to put one of the number 5 pushrods back in and it wont go down far enuff if feels and sounds like its hitting something loose down in the head could this be or is there a guide plate or what plz help now for this is my only means of transportation and no there was no bad sounds comming from the motor just a slight miss

 

lifters up in the bore, because the cam is at max lift right now. that means the pushrod will be up further than normal at that moment in the engine cycle.
