Thermostat replacement ?

Thermostat replacement ? I have to replace the tsat on my 02 SS. Is the stock one 187F degrees (same as the one I bought at a local store) and do I drain the rad to change it? Anything other advise is appreciated.

I recently put in a 180* hypertech. It's getting cold here, so far so good with engine temp and the heater works good.
Be careful about purging the air from the coolant when you refill the system. The hypertech came with detailed instructions on how to do it. Basically take your time and make sure all the air bubbles are out.
