Default small cam +1.8 rocker????

ill make this quick and simple..

218/224 .529/.534 114+4

can i run a 1.8 rocker arm ratio with out worrying about piston to valve clearance? possibly 1.85? if so what would my lift be?

Thanks

1.8 Rockers should give you:
0.560" / 0.565 " lift

Easily.

I'd just get a bigger cam without the roller rockers personally.

+1

Just switching to an XFI/Xer lobed cam of the same duration would make a bit more power than rockers and idle easier. In fact a 218/224 112 +2 with fast ramps would be a big improvement over the rockers solution and idle just as well.

I ran the 1.75 pro mags with a comp xr281 228/230 @.050 .571/.573 (.587/.589 with the 1.75) with no issues. ran great. I would not go 1.85 it will limit youre cam choice's in the future. I wish i would have spent the money on a shaft mount 1.7 set up

Your stock 1.7s or you already have 1.7 rr's? I still say if you decide you're going to go with a small cam, I'd definately do a 224/224 on a 112 or a 226/226 on a 112 if you're worried about low end power which I'm assuming by your cam choice.

Rockers are not really cheaper than a cam. Your used cam can be sold, the stock rockers have a low resale value. Either one needs good springs.

If you are going FI, just save your money for it.

Someone is just going to trade me straight up 1.85's for my 1.7's, so it wont be costing me anything

Thanks everyone

I changed my mind.. What if you decide to go with a larger cam later and you limit yourself with your off the shelf cam choice later!
