i'm looking for a cam for my daily driven 99 ta. i would like a cam that will have a noticeable lope (i want people to know i have a cam). i will probably have headers soon. and will upgrade to a ls6 manifold and perhaps ls6 heads or stage 2 ls1 heads. i don't want to have to worry about breaking anything (springs, retainers, pushrods). anyone have any ideas on something that'll fit this role.

Try one of the Izzo grinds from speed inc. After any cam you put in the car is going to need to be tuned, keep that in mind. If you dont like any of those cams, take a look on thunder racing. Both stores are sponsors of this site.

Go with a 222/222 .563/.563 112lsa cam, if you want the lope you need 112lsa, this was the first cam I ever tried, it was good in my 6-speed, an auto around here with it ran an 11.6 with it....
I originally bought mine from Speed Inc.

Get a 224/224 on a 112lsa at the smallest, or you could go with a 228/228 112lsa, but valve clearance could get tight if you get heads that are shaved. Just about any of the reverse split cams would do well also, but just remember to get some LS1edit tuning with any package to optimize it. You don't have emissions testing to worry about from what I hear. ![Winky](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_wink.gif)
A4 huh? Any cam you do in a A4 will require some kind of converter, prob 3200-3500 would keep it streetable and good at the track.
We havn't had any problems with valvesprings, we usually use the Manley springs/Ti retainers and Manley pushrods. There is also the Comp Cams 918 springs, which are a little cheaper because you don't 'have' to buy retainers unless you want to.

ive got the 224/224 .563 114 comp cam and love it... but it was a PITA to get the idle perfect. She went 11.50 cam only untuned in my tub of lard car
I just added TEA 5.3 heads now and man the car feels awesome!
the smallest I would go is 220/220 and a happy medium would be a 222/222 cam.
