Default PRC duals need to be shimmed?

do PRC duals need to be shimmed? any also is there any PTV clearance issues with comp 228/232 .588/.595 110+4 LSA on stock heads/gaskets?

No sir. The seat bases that come with the springs will have you where you need to be. Also, you shouldn't have any PTV issues with that cam on stock heads and gaskets. Just make sure you install the cam properly and we always recommend checking PTV.

Thanks again Jon, hopefully i will be up and running by the end of the weekend! Cams lined up dot to dot, degreed it to make sure everything was right. Other than that i should be all set.

Sorry, I have PRC duals and as I recall I shimmed them to 1.760", which was within ~ .050" of coil bind.

Yes and No. It really depends on what spring pressure your shooting for. I would never install springs without confirming the installed height and open and closed pressures. It might be overkill but you know it's right. From my experience it seems dual chrome silicon springs drop on average 7-10psi after initial break in. I usually reshim them back to spec after break in.
